2. What other documents must I submit to the JHU SOE?
Once you complete the online application, you will receive an email from the JHU SOE with a link to the disposition survey. You will need to download the survey PDF, fill it out, and then upload it via the SOE online system. You also need to have official transcripts mailed from all postsecondary institutions you have attended to the following address:
Johns Hopkins University, School of Education, Office of Admissions
6740 Alexander Bell Drive, Suite 110
Columbia, MD 21046-2100.
(Note: To be considered “official,” transcripts must be submitted in the institution’s sealed envelope. No electronic copies will be accepted. Current college seniors should send official copies of their incomplete transcripts now in order to be considered for the program; however, once admitted, they will also need to send a second official set of transcripts showing successful completion of their undergraduate degree, which must be submitted before the end of their first semester at the JHU SOE.) An application will not be considered complete, and therefore will not be reviewed by JHU SOE, until the transcripts and the dispositions survey have been received. Urban Teachers will share your résumé, unofficial transcript, letters of recommendation, and writing sample to the JHU SOE.
3. How do I complete the disposition survey?
The disposition survey is a PDF form that is designed to be completed electronically (i.e. typed). Applicants can complete it, save it as a PDF, and then upload into the JHU SOE’s online admissions site. However, if an applicant is having difficulty completing it electronically or saving it, JHU SOE will still accept a legible handwritten submission. If you are completing the disposition survey electronically, please try to fit your response to each question within the answer space provided.
4. When is the deadline for completing the JHU SOE online application?
You should complete the online application and disposition survey within 30 days of accepting your Urban Teachers offer, or by the final deadline, whichever comes first. The final deadline for completing the JHU SOE application for Baltimore Cohort 2016 eligibility is May 27. Please keep in mind that your application will not be considered complete until official transcripts are received from all postsecondary institutions you have attended, so plan to have those transcripts sent well before these deadlines.
