Preparing for Summer Institute
Summer Institute is packed with opportunities to lay a great foundation for your effectiveness as a teacher and a leader. Because it only lasts five weeks, the Summer Institute schedule is extremely full.
We know that Summer Institute can be stressful. There are many things you can do, however, to ensure that your Summer Institute experience is a successful one.

Plan in advance: Use this website and communications from the Baltimore Site Team to ensure you are logistically prepared

Reach out for support: You cannot do this work alone! We are providing Summer Mentors who will help you build a professional learning community

Time Management: In addition to graduate coursework and clinical experience, we will offer a number of social and informational activities to help you prioritize your personal needs and manage you time
Your Urban Teachers Enrollment Checklist
Have you completed all the steps below?

Register for the Praxis Core or submit qualifying test scores by May 21st

Submit copies of your transcripts (Current college seniors: you do not need to send your transcripts until your degree is officially conferred when you graduate.)

Apply online to the Johns Hopkins University School of Education by May 27th

Fill out the FAFSA with the code E00475
-
Apply for financial aid opportunities through the Johns Hopkins University School of Education and/or outside resources

Complete the Summer Registration Survey by May 16th

Complete the Summer Institute Pre-Work by June 17th
