Pre-Professional Testing Requirements
According to the Maryland State Department of Education, All beginning teachers in all content areas must take Praxis Core, Praxis I, SAT, GRE, or ACT.
We recommend that you view this webinar for more details about these testing requirements.
The tables below indicate qualifying score requirements for each eligible test:
If you will be submitting Praxis Scores...
Praxis Core: We recommend that you take the test within 30 days of accepting your Urban Teachers offer. You must take the Praxis Core by May 21st, 2016 (NO EXCEPTIONS).

During registration for the Praxis Core, you should indicate that you would like your scores to be sent to Urban Teachers with the Institution Code 5822
If you did not adequately prepare for the test and did not meet the pass score, then you will not be able to retake the test for 30 days. Email Megan.Rottmann@urbanteachers.org immediatley if you do not pass to inform us of your next steps.
Praxis 1: Scores should also be sent directly from ETS to Urban Teachers.

*A Praxis 1 composite score of 527 is also acceptable, however Reading must be above 168, Writing must be above 165, and Math must be above 169
If you will be submitting non-Praxis scores...
You will order an official score report to be sent directly to yourself. You must scan/save this score report as a PDF and email it to Megan.Rottmann@urbanteachers.org with your first name, last name, and "test scores" in the subject line.
GRE scores:

You can access an electronic copy of your score for free from your GRE account

You can order a paper copy of your GRE scores to be sent to your own address for $27 with this form
SAT scores:

You can order a paper copy of your SAT scores to be sent to your own address for $42.25 over the phone. The SAT line is 1-866-756-7346. You will be prompted to answer a series of verification questions about your home address, high school, SSN, etc.
ACT scores:
