Life at Institute:
Making friends is crucial to your success in the Urban Teachers program. Urban Teachers and MICA allow for you to study hard and produce quality work, but also have fun. Living in Baltimore during the summer is exciting! With convenience to the Mt. Vernon and Bolton Hill neighborhoods, there are a numbe of restaurants, night life venues, and public transportation options to bring you to downtown Baltimore. Catch an Orioles game, hang out at the inner harbor, or even visit the grave of Edgar Allen Poe.

What's Nearby?
The Baltimore City Light Rail can take you throughout the city from Hunt Valley to the North to Baltimore Washington International Airport to the south, with stops in between at many exciting locales. Within walking distance of MICA is Barnes and Noble and a few eataries in case you want to explore!
Dining:
Three meals will be provided by MICA. This includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the weekdays. On Saturday and Sunday, only brunch and dinner will be served. Residents will also have in-room kitchens if they wish to cook.
Clinical Placements:
The Baltimore site team has worked hard to find the best placement for you. At your summer school, you will be given support via a co-teacher and an Urban Teachers coach. In the fall, a Host Teacher will help guide you throughout the semester. You will have the opportunity to work with a second Host Teacher in the spring. During your residency placement you will have to fulfil the student teaching requirement, but do not worry -- our Urban Teachers staff will guide you along the way and ensure you are fully pepared.
